Bolton Art Circle activities have dominated my week - getting the advertising and publicity material prepared for our 2012 exhibition season.  Well that all seems to be in hand now so I can get to my art works on my easel;

• Landscapes of the Beamish valley - from photos and sketches from my holiday.
• Venice Nights - my chosen project in creative watercolour class - sketches done - drawing work underway
• Abstract - based on the work of Mondrian which I'm thinking will be one of my entries ...

The idea for Leaves Falling came from an Autumn workshop I recently attended and a class on stylised flowers.  I put the 2 together and created some stylised Autumn Leaves.  Finished last week on a visit to the Beamish Valley where the Autumn Colours were in their full glory.

On holiday this week in the beautiful Beamish Valley in Northumberland.  I have my paints with me and have completed a sylised autumn leaves picture - inspired by the wonderful colours here.  I've taken lots of photos and have drawn up the outline for a painting of the valley.  Watch this space.

Today I've submitted 2 paintings into  the Bolton Library and Museum Services - Open Art Exhibition 2011. Rocky Sunset Shore and Seashells & Starfish. This is only the 2nd time I've done this.  Last time was earlier this year into the exhibiiton of my own Art Club held at the Museum Gallery.  I'll be delighted if I actually get a painitng into the exhibition and if not - well another experience as I venture out into the art world on my own.
