River Ness & Banyan Street

Here's what's on the easel at the moment.

Banyan Street will be the third and final attempt.  Versions 1 & 2 were from the opposite end of the Street - I realised the mistake was that this view works better.  Won't be including the blue taurpaulin on the final version.


River Ness was photographed August last year.  That's how long it takes me to get round to doing a painting.  All drawn up and ready to start applying the washes.

Tubular Shell

Finished yesterday and framed this morning so I can take this one along to tomorrows exhibition.  This was painted to add one more to my shells collection - and because I enjoy doing these.  Splashing the masking fluid on the background gives the water its bubbles.

2 Florals out for 6 months

Joined the Society for All Artists Yesterday

I've been thinking about joining the Society for All Artists (SAA) for a while now and decided that I'd join yesterday.  I've taken out the Gold membership as I thought the insurance benefits were excellent - paintings are insured in exhibitions and you also get public liability insurance.  I apparently also get a web page with them - just need to figure out how everything works.  Watch this space.

Another May exhibition

May is proving to be a busy month with exhibitions - tomorrow I'm at Walmsley Parish Church with Bolton Art Circle.  Tuesday I hang some work in the Eccles Community Gallery ready for the next exhibition starting on 19th May.  My first time in the gallery and I'm looking forward to the experience.  Just need to decide what paintings to take.
