Margaret Shaw - Tuition & Workshops

Lets Draw

Part of Create to Connect - Eden

During this time of Coronavirus social isolation & distancing, I've decided to produce free on line tutorials.
The idea is to use a minimum of art materials that most people will have to hand. So Let's Draw.

I'm a professional associate of the SAA.  I have tutored art beginners classes/workshops, creative workshops and mentored/coached people to develop their skills.  I work one to one with both beginners and more experienced artists, introducing them to media and techniques.

If you're interested in how I approach each piece of artwork, visit the artwork in progress page on this web site.  You'll see my processes for recent pieces (mistakes included).

I'm happy to demonstrate my approach to artwork and deliver workshops.  I also give talks on my photography from an artistic perspective.

I live in Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria so if you're looking for a workshop/tuition within my vicinity contact me to discuss what I can offer you.

On the right are a few examples of pastel workshops.

From Christine Goodwin

Margaret Shaw has a knack of showing you how to draw or paint without patronising. Her online tutorials are set out in a step by step formula which takes you from gridlines, to finished and signed, in a simple, easy to follow way. It's almost as if she's looking over your shoulder as you do it and saying "have you just thought about darkening that shadow a bit more?".
I had lessons with Margaret and can recommend her to anyone, whatever their level of experience.
